Still impossible to go near without having startling flashbacks to wet English
Seaside holidays in the 1970’s. We stuck to the plan and ordered the
classic, yet it still arrived in a Bender in a Bun wrapper. When we ordered,
we were asked if we wanted the works. Yes we did. Apparently, this meant an
extra half kilo of lettuce.
I’m quite fond of Wimpy, more because against all reason, they still
exist than because of their food and it has to be said, this was not a special
experience. The burger itself was luke warm despite being cooked to order,
and lettuce really shouldn’t be able to overpower the taste of anything,
yet did in this case. You could also still feel the breadiness in your mouth
after. A disappointing and rather downbeat beginning but we were not deterred.
