Going for a Big Mac is a vaguely reassuring experience. There is no room
in the Macdonald’s machine for any inconsistencies, each burger will
be exactly the same as the one before but it’s a winning formula and
Mr Mac is somewhat richer than I am, so why not.
The burger, we all agreed, was actually a little better than we had given
them credit for. Quite tasty, a variety of flavours with nothing being too
overpowering, even the gherkin or special sauce. Familiarity breeds at least
a little contempt, so we were unlikely to sing its praises too loudly but
came away feeling it was a pretty fair result for what we had paid.
