30 High Street, Shoreham, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 7TD 01959 522800 After a pleasant evening walk along the Darent Valley Path we arrived at the Two Brewers in Shoreham looking forward to a nice evening meal. Little did we know we were in for the meal from hell... Three quarters of an hour after ordering, our food finally arrived. My chicken curry was bland, very bland and quite tasteless. True this isn't a curry house but I've had far better pub curries in the past which ACTUALLY HAD FLAVOUR IN THEM. That was just the start of our problems. Two girls opposite me each ordered a pie, I forget the flavour but when they turned up the plates were red hot but the food was cold. The pies were sent back to be re-heated. Basil Fawlty would be proud of this place... But worst of all, another girl's chilli was so hot it nearly blew her head off. She complained and when the very chavvy chef appeared she was offered a pathetic 10% discount off the price of her meal. I ask you!! On top of that, the supposedly no-smoking area of the pub presently suffers from a dreadful ingress of tobacco smoke from the centrally located bar. Will they comply with the new legislation due out on July 1st? I very much doubt it. The unbelievable thing about Shoreham is that it has a staggering FOUR pubs plus a tea rooms in the village, so how the Two Brewers survives is quite beyond me. The village has a lot to offer: fantastic walking opportunities, a train station just down the road, Lullingstone Castle, The Hop Shop nearby, an aircraft museum, Eagle Heights birds of prey centre, a golf club and a tea rooms. Plus four pubs. If you are thinking of visiting this lovely village then for the love of God DON'T go near the Two Brewers - it's crap!!!
