Mt Edgcumbe
On the off chance we popped in on a Tuesday night to try the food after reading some of the previous reviews. We were the only ones in the restaurant which felt a bit weird but it was Tuesday. We only ordered a main course each, my other half had the steak which was 'melt in the mouth' accompanied by a lovely sauce with very good gratin of potato. I had the venison which was a little on the tough side but the tasty sauce made up for that, the spring onion mash and buttered spinach were done to perfection. Oh and I did have some honeycomb Ice-cream, (cant resist that if I see it on a menu) not sure if its home made but that was delicious too. All in all very good I would recommend the Mount Edgcumbe restaurant, but maybe a bit later in the week if you want a bit of atmosphere. gnome10
