33b Kemp Pl, Bushey WD23 1DW 020 89504001 If you live near Bushey in Hertfordshire and were thinking of going out for a nice Indian meal, I would advise you to avoid De Ja Vu. I eat out regularly and rarely do I complain about the establishment...... however, my dear friend booked it for her birthday party - she left totally destroyed by the experience. The Atmosphere? If you like screaming to your neighbour to make yourself heard above the din of some cheap Elvis impersonator, and enjoy being yelled at by some looney employed to get you on the dancefloor, be my guest. There was no joy from the air-conditioning and we dripped our way through the roasting heat desperately trying to support our birthday girl friend and not make a fuss. It was sheer torture. The Service? We ordered drinks which didn't arrive so we drank the tap water provided - they then charged us for the drinks that never came. The waiters are manic and completely disorganised. We ordered vegetarian and got meat. They then proceeded to scrape the food back off the plate and served a replacement dish of what I can only describe as tinned plum tomatoes and chewy chunks of aubergine - hardly Indian! The Food? Totally gross! My partner is Indian and said that out of all the grotty holes visited, this HAS to be the worst restaurant ever! If your favourite flavour is oil, you'll love it! It comes dripping! The Bill? Oh, apparently, our starter was £20! Four tiny battered mushrooms, two slithers of greasy potato fritters, two equally oily aubergine slices, dripping fired cabage something, a droopy leaf of lettuce and a piece of lemon. They charged us £60 over what we calculated and would not step down. Our poor birthday girl was gutted. Needless to say, we all had bad tummies the following day. This place should be closed down!!! VISIT AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!!!! Reply |
