| We visited The Best Beech on a Friday evening a few weeks back,I had been here before, but forgotten just how delightful this place is. The Best Beech is an old coaching house dating back to the 17th century. It is tucked away down Mayfield Lane, a dark country road off the High Street in Wadhurst. Upon entering we sat down in the bar area to the left, the restaurant was quite full at 8pm, although a few spaces were left and we had booked anyway. A member of the waiting staff brought over some menu's and asked if we'd like to remain in the bar area which we did. After a few glasses of wine, we were called over to the table. As we were not overly hungry, we opted for mains only, something I regret as our companions had delicious looking starters. As previously mentioned, this was a few weeks back so I must confess I cannot quite remember what they had but they certainly got a thumbs up. Onto the mains, I chose the duck which was absolutely delightful, sumptious fillets surrounded by a mouthwatering jus and an impressive and mighty tasty rosti, the best duck I have had in fact. My partner went for a vegetable bake which she exclaimed was equally delicious. I really could not fault this place, the service was good and the quality of food outstanding, I am thoroughly looking forward to visiting again....... and hopefully being able to provide a more detailed review!!!
