Fell upon this restaurant after shopping in the Gunwharf Quays complex,
and well, we could not fault it! From the very warm welcome from the
maitre d, she convinced us to have some oysters and champagne in the
bar while a table became available (despite it being 7pm the restaurant
was already full - on a Monday?!). Our waitress came over and suggested
some of the dishes to us as we just couldn't decide. My wife opted
for a dorade which was served on a bed of fennel with two very large
scallops and I opted for selection of their salmons - which the waitress
proudly told us were smoked in their own smokehouse in Loch Fyne.
Both of the meals were fantastic, cooked to perfection, with a dollop
of homemade mash on the side. The staff although they were busy were
all very friendly and happy to help, they even organised our taxi
home. A great find, we have been back 3 times since in as many weeks,
and have found each meal as good as the first. Peter |
