| With the windows plastered in 'Meal Deal' offers I was a little unsure what to expect with Jade, but gave it a go regardless. Ambience was quiet and cosy, a few couples but not crowded. A round of Vegetable Spring Rolls to start with, which despite being a little hard on the teeth were actually really good (sweet chilli dipping sauce to accompany). I felt the Prawn and barbecue pork rice was a little pricey at around £3 something - but ultimately you need something to go with your dishes! We opted for the Chicken with mixed vegetables and cashew nuts, and the Green Thai Curry with Shredded Duck for our mains. The first was great, really tender chicken pieces and lots of it. However, I had trouble finding a single piece of duck meat in my Green Thai Curry! There just seemed to be an abundance of fatty lumps with the odd bit of meat attached (not really what you expect for £6.95). My partner said the house red was fine, and I suppose the whole meal for £23 wasn't too bad. Conclusion - Nothing particularly special, but you could do worse.
