| Perhaps I'm biased but this is the best Indian restaurant in Sevenoaks, of which there are quite a few. From the outset it's clear that this is not your typical Indian restaurant, the decor and music are modern for a start. The wine list is reasonable and can offer good matches for the food and the guys there are friendly but respectful. It is certainly worth eschewing the popadums in favour of one of their wonderful starters such as boti kebab or the selection comprising delights that I last saw at a Parsee restaurant. Mains are split into traditional and connoisseur, i.e. you can get your chicken tikka massala but the chefs make a real effort to bring their talents to the fore. There are no dried spices or dishes tasting of little but garam masala here. All herbs are fresh and the dishes sparkle with clean, fresh tastes. Most of the meals aren't spicy hot but can be requested so. Their jalfrezi is a favourite as is the chicken dish in a hot creamy, ginger, and garlic sauce. Yes, the name escapes me. They even try their hand at a flaming dish, doused in whisky and set alight at your table, another delicious in-house recipe. This is an excellent restaurant and I doubt many people will be disappointed with the food, service or bill. It's worth paying an extra quid or so to eat here. Book on weekends or you'll be queuing or turned away. A testament to the success of the joint.
