| Having walked past Flaming Nora in Islington several times, it's clean and funky exterior had caught my eye. I was surprised to realise it wasn't a trendy boutique but selling fast food. I'm not a kebab fan and normally only enter burger/kebab places when I'm worse for wear, but on entering Flaming Nora I knew this was something different. The decor was impressive with an open plan kitchen and grills where you can watch food being cooked. It's modern and clean and there's not a greasy rotating gyro anywhere. The staff were really friendly and young, it was novel getting a smile from someone working in a fast food place. Flaming Nora really put on fresh, grilled food and you see every bit of your meal being prepared - including watching how it's cooked.
The menu has an exciting selection of burgers, kebabs, chops and steak sandwiches with yellow tuna fin burgers and salmon shish for people wanting something other than meat including a haloumi shish and yummy looking veggy burger too. We settled for lamb burger, with delicious chutney and a salmon shish( which you can have carb free - no no wrap). We were told that all of Flaming Nora's meats are marinated in secret recipe sauces giving them a delicious flavour and there's a selection of sauces on offer, as well as chips, wedges or onion rings. Meal deals make Flaming Nora great value for money - top quality nosh for £6 And there's dessert, my friend and I shared a grilled fruit kebab... yum! And apparently Flaming Nora is going to be selling BBQ packs at the end of the month, as well as opening a second store in Wood Green in the Summer.
