I ordered a takeaway from the Notting Hill Tandoori last night, quite by chance, and I found myself eating the best Indian food I have tasted in years! I had a freshwater fish dish called African Queen, and a spinach, green banana and potato side dish. Both were delicious, with top quality ingredients, and lightly spiced so that all of the natural flavours were enhanced. The Pilau rice was a revelation - it had a superb taste and texture, and none of those strange bright food colourings. All of the food was fresh, natural and healthy, and not in the least bit oily. The restaurant environment was spacious and modern, with good table linen. Eating in would have been a pleasant option, and when I go back with friends, that's what I intend to do. Also, their customer service was exceptional. Even though I was only ordering a takeaway, the manager was really friendly and hospitable, and having ordered a couple of drinks while waiting, I was given a complimentary drink upon leaving. I would very highly recommend the Notting Hill Tandoori even to people who may have grown a little weary of Indian food. Their menu is extensive and imaginative, with a great range of seafood and vegetables alongside all the traditional dishes, their service is first class, and their prices are very reasonable. Give them a try, and you'll be glad you did.
