Sheffield gastro pub The Milestone has re-launched its popular cookery school due to a high level of demand, which will be held at their latest Sheffield city centre venture the Wig & Pen.
The team has worked to develop a new, more diverse range of courses that reflect their ethos for fresh, locally sourced food, with all classes being lead by their professional chefs. Classes include ‘Knife Skills’, ‘Meat’, ‘Fish’, ‘Bread’ and ‘Bakes & Cakes’, and ‘Now You’ve Caught Your Pig’, focusing on utilising every part of the animal.
A unique addition to the programme is the ‘Make and Take’ courses, enabling participants to create a meal from scratch in an hour and a half to take home and enjoy. ‘Make and Take’ classes run in the evening from 6pm making them ideal for those wishing to attend after work.
Marc Sheldon, co-owner of the Wig & Pen, said: “With the rise in popularity of cooking programmes more and more people want to learn how to cook from scratch, learn new skills or enhance existing ones. We want to provide this and feel that the range of courses we have developed cater for all interests and levels of skill. The classes are ideal for individuals, as well as corporate and group events.”
Courses vary in length between a couple of hours to a full day and are open to anyone over the age of 16. Each full day course includes coffee on arrival, lunch with a glass of wine, and afternoon coffee. Courses begin at 10:30am and finish at 4pm, unless otherwise stated, and cost £110 per person.
