Lovely location and decent decor let down by disinterested service and uninteresting food. Last year's meal was good but this year the two meals we had - honey duck and rack of lamb were not worth eating. The lamb was pink all the way through, not just in the middle, and tasted of nothing very much. It's accompanying slop of mashed potato was equally tedious. The duck was over cooked and very tough. Nothing seriously wrong, just disappointing and tasteless. We should have complained but we didn't, I am going to write to the cardiff brewery though. mrve

THE SHIP TRESAITH IS DEAD

I have visted The Ship Inn over the last 21 Years.

I have seen this place at it's best and at it's worst. The current owner "Brains Brewery" has to be by far the worst occupier this little gem of a pub has ever had.

The staff are rude, uncooperative and inexperienced in the running of this pub. The menu is so limited it does not deserve consideration. The cooking is so poor that I have tasted better when tripping over on the beach in 1989 chasing my dog!

The spirit of Tresaith is dead without this pub, it has been the focal point of the village and wider community for decades and within a few months, 'Brains Staff' have killed it off - hey what else is it good for, other than a TAX LOSS.

DON'T VISIT THE SHIP INN TRESAITH, SAVE YOUR MONEY & GO TO ABERPORTH - It has a Ship Inn and it is run by a family, with spirit.

THE SHIP INN

HAVING JUST STAYED AT THE SHIP FOR 4 NIGHTS I CANNOT DISAGREE ENOUGH, THE STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL, POLITE AND VERY FRIENDLY THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE ACCOMMODATION WAS VERY GOOD.

PLEASE PLEASE STOP RUNNING THIS PUB DOWN IT WAS EVERYTHING THAT WE EXPECTED.

Wouldn't recommend it - Been

Wouldn't recommend it - Been there a few times during summer - very disappointed every time with food and service. Tried various main courses all equally disappointing.
Used to look forward to ordering Chicken with goats cheese - has been taken off menu ( why take a best seller off) - wish I had the recipe.

Ship Inn Tresaith

This pub has gone down hill since Brains took over the running of it. The food use to be exceptionally high quality using the best local produce and it used to be a favourite haunt. Curently the portions are small, menu limited and the prices are extortionate. Even the beer which used to be a pleasure to drink is positively awful. Recently they ran out of pizzas at 6pm on a Friday night, were unable to accept credit card payments, ran out of food completely on another ocassion and people are dining elsewhere. My rack of Lamb was tasty but was the smallest rack i had ever seen and at £16's was far too expensive. I will not be eating their again !
