Until about 4/6 months back we were very regular visitors to this eaterie considering it to be one of the best in the area. The prices reflected the standard of food and service that one was getting. However, the ownership changed leading to the departure of the chef and Maitre d (female) who so confidently managed the affairs outside the kitchen. We gave it a try after the change and in the early stages it wasn't too bad but, got progressively worse to the stage where you would have to pay us to eat there. On the last occassion the produce on the plate was more voluminous than flavoursome, the service sloppy and amateurish (youngsters who are clearly learning on the job! It's not their fault if there is no experienced hand there to train them.) A typical example was when my wife enquired of the head waiter as to what exactly was a particular sweet on the dessert menu. He leaned over and (in all seriousness) read from the menu in my wife's hand as the proffered elucidation. Clearly he felt she had lost the ability to read that evening. Er, no we were after a more expansive description to assist in the decision making. A fairly hefty bill of close to £200 and a most unsatisfactory meal in all regards concluded us to strike it off our list. A sad loss. I suspect it has continued to lose trade, and it probably doesn't even realise why. Mr. Bud Taste
