The Veggie Red Lion Wins Award

It would seem that The Red Lion in Great Bricett, Suffolk, have been perfecting their vegetarian fayre since last we met - The Vegetarian Society have named the establishment as Best Pub 2008 in its annual awards.

The awards are in their eighth year, and are voted for through the charity’s website and members’ magazine. As East Anglia's first and only vegetarian pub, one might argue they were a shoe-in, but not so - they beat off stiff competition, including the likes of The George in Brighton and The 78 in Glasgow.

I certainly feel a return visit is in order to see if their well deserved award has calmed down the ostentatious garnishes - Mrs. Otter will be pleased of our second helping. All in the line of duty, of course...
