Consumed with my reading material I had brought in, I did not notice how the time seemed to have sped pass. It is now 9:04pm and I have yet to receive my order of Baby Back Ribs. Soon after a gentleman comes from the kitchen to ask what it was I actually ordered??? A little taken aback, I stated my order and assumed the order was coming SOON AFTER. By this time it 9:12pm and no food was in sight. Disgruntled and annoyed, I proceeded to the bar to pay for my watered down half touched lemonade and to cancel the order that I was obviously not getting. The waitress while very apologetic explained that the private party was that of the owners. I than explained that if a customer can not be serviced while a private party was taking place in the entire restaurant than perhaps the doors should be closed to the public! The waitress was being very apologetic for the lack of service and stating that she would check on my meal, give her a second. Instead of a meal, I was told, the lemonade will be $1 and the order was cancelled!! My night ended with my leaving RJ’s with no acknowledgement from a manager whatsoever, a watered down lemonade, $1 less in my pocket and 47 minutes wasted at your establishment. If RJ’s Rib Joint can not chew gum and walk at the same time, it is highly recommended you not open your doors if you’re having a private party. One positive thing I will say after all this, the waitress who stated she was a Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Debutante at one time, truly needs to be next in line for the manager position. She attempted to defuse the situation better than the so called manager of the establishment. Hats off to the one person in the place who knows what customer service is. tell like it is
