First off (and I wouldn’t normally complain about something so trivial but while I’m at it I may as well include this incident) I ordered a bottle of wine from the waitress, I specifically said “please can I have a bottle“, she asked if I’d like 2 glasses, and then appeared with 2 glasses of wine and no bottle. I apologised (heaven only knows why as it wasn't my error) & explained I'd wanted a bottle (as ordered) and the waitress sighed in irritation at me and rolled her eyes.

When it came to ordering the food I asked if it was possible to have paella for 1 person, as most restaurants require a minimum of 2 people, apparently it is possible so I ordered that and my boyfriend ordered a selection of tapas for himself. Next thing we know his tapas is in front of him. I appreciate that it takes 30 minutes to make a paella (as specified on the menu), and that’s not an issue, but surely common sense would dictate that we'd like to eat together and therefore hold off on the tapas until the paella was ready. It’s not like I’d ordered a portion for 2 thereby making the tapas a starter, I specifically ordered it for 1 person.

My boyfriend finished his tapas, the plates were cleared away and we waited and waited and waited, no sign of the paella. After waiting for 1 hour and 15 minutes we decided to complain & leave. The waitress couldn't quite get her head round why we were dissatisfied and wished to leave, again she seemed irritated at us as if this was somehow OUR fault. Eventually another waitress interjected asking the question "but aren't you hungry" Well yes of course I'm hungry but our evening is now totally ruined, it's too late to get a table elsewhere and even if we did 1 of us has already eaten and does not want another meal. So she goes to fetch the bill, again we try to express our dissatisfaction with the service & the fact that our evening has been ruined, and that perhaps as a good will gesture we could have the tapas removed from the bill, leaving us to pay for the wine. This gets a response as if we are the type of people who pull this kind of 'stunt' to get free food so AGAIN we say that it really is not satisfactory that 1 person's food comes out straight away while the other is waiting well over an hour for theirs. And what was the waitresses response to this? ......... "It happens".

So there we go. I can not fault the wine, it was fabulous, the service was the worst I have ever encountered & I'd like to be able to comment on the food but I didn't actually get to eat!
