Rage - a popular steak restaurant chainLondon One day I had the honour to visit both restaurants in Shaftesbury Avenue. I went to xx Shaftesbury Avenue first but found a fat, short waitress really rude as I could understand her swearing in Russian. I was there with my niece and her husband, who I had just met and felt a bit embarrassed to complain before we even started eating. However, I had decided to call her to place an order and you would not like to know what she mumbled in Russian. I had enough and asked my company to walk out, was really tempted to swear back in Russian but decided not to. Then we decided to go to another Steak House across the street, 53 Shaftesbury Avenue. The service was much more pleasant, even though there was a Russian waitress as well. She was much nicer and more polite. As we were eating steaks which were terrible and food was semi cold the rude waitress from the opposite branch came and looked at us with sarcastic smile, talking to the other waitress in Russian that we were stupid thinking it was a different restaurant. I just wanted to go out. To our surprise, we got our bill quickly… on a white piece of paper… I was surprised because other customers were getting proper pink bills and then we realised that we thought that these staff were basically in the middle of stealing money from their employer. I wonder whether it is the low wages they get, lack of motivation and involvement or just greed??? I do not advise you to go there especially if you appreciate a good food and understand Russian language or at least swearwords. Modest
