Food is very important to us. This represented the worst 2 weeks of food in our lives. The disgustingness of the food is reason enough not to go here on holiday. There are many other reasons as well - significantly the rude service of the Swiss manageress. This is a wierd experience that will cost you alot of money and place you in a situation equivalent to a prison island. Reaching more palatable food is only possible if you have lots of funds and can charter your way out of here once you're there. The is no local public transport system. The island has 2 restaurants and a beach bar. All 3 are managed by the same company and there is very little local food available. The menu is dominated by the owners attempts to create clearly tasteless European food without adequate knowledge or ingredients. The only food approaching decent was part of the thursday 'maldivian' night menu. It is very sad to have to write such a negative report about an island that has a lot of food in an area where there are acknowledged food shortages and local malnutrition. We did not know any of this before we went and would urge others strongly not to bother. dave and dolly bird
