I've been here twice and have not been impressed. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't completely unhappy about the whole thing, but I don't think this place is the best Mexican you can get in London, a claim that's made by a lot of reviewers.

The rice is soggy, and the dishes are bland and flavourless, definitely not what we have come to expect from Mexican food.

The staff aren't that friendly, and it is expensive, for what it is. You can definitely do better than this, I just haven't found it yet.

Now, Mr RD and I know our mexican food and restaurants and we wanted to see what this place had to offer.

The young waitress showed us to our lower level table next to the bar. She asked if we wanted to order a drink. Water would be fine. Normally we'd order wine but not this time. Leaning over the balcony from the bar giving us a lovely view of her armpits as an appetiser ... she plonked glasses on the table.

This restaurant has recently opened in a convenient location on the A4 heading out of Reading to the East. The restaurant has an inviting frontage and adequate parking. In line with this chain’s style, the restaurant is decked out to mimic a US diner, which is friendly and informal.

We ordered a starter of crispy chicken strips at £4.75. Thinking that the quantities would follow the US style also, we decided to share this one between two. Big mistake. The dish arrived after 20 minutes wait as 2 piece of reconstituted chicken in breadcrumbs on a bed of dead iceberg lettuce with a hint of some kind of mayonnaise dressing. The taste was poor and the presentation was well below ‘Little Chef’ level.

So much has been said about the humble burger, the global organisations that "provide" our addiction and the processes that take the patty to the counter from its cage, that the idea of a chain trying to provide something substantial and healthy to a similar market seems faintly ridiculous. For the parents who have reluctantly relented to the "Happy Meal", forking out the best part of seven quid for a hamburger, healthily produced or not, is going to be a bit of a struggle. So therein lies the problem. If I want some quick bland food fuel, do I shut my eyes and close down the information I already have to eat a Mac, or if I decide I want to spend a bit more cash, on something healthy, do I go the an upmarket burger bar?

Went to Amigos for our Xmas meal and the restaurant is small and cold. The service was ok but the food was substandard and have had much better in a pub. My husband had nachos which were like stale crisps with a funny sauce on and the chicken fajitas sauce was not pleasant either. The portions were not very big so really disappointed and would never go there again and advise nobody else to go too

Another recommendation (Stonehouse ? Smokehouse?) opposite the 3 Gringos was full, so with little hope of gastronomy heaven, we popped in here. Neither of us are Mexican food fans, and the $23 three course meal, the location (in a mall, next door to the Bi-Lo supermarket), the formica tables and Christmas parties of families wearing paper hats led us to believe we'd get something pretty unmemorable to eat.
