Breathtaking views across rolling English hills make this an excellent destination for eating outside, although a variety of rooms are available inside for comfy winter dinners.

You know you are well away from London when they refuse to keep your credit card behind the bar - preferring to "trust" that you'll pay at the end. Food was hot - microwave hot - and came in gigantic portions. A Steak and Mushroom pie utterly defeated Q, while my home-roasted ham with chips, etc was good and filling.
